Jonny Lee Miller details daring stunt he performed to impress Angelina Jolie
Jonny Lee Miller once carried out a crazy stunt in a bid to impress his girlfriend Angelina Jolie before he was famous.
The actor attempted to woo the Hollywood star in the 1990s, all before he became a household name thanks to Danny Boyle's hit flick Trainspotting. In a recent interview, he explained the insane experience was the result of a last-minute plan by Jolie.
She had suggested the pair jump out of an airplane in California after booking a surprise visit to a local southern parachute school. Attempting to win over his later first wife, Jonny agreed to the jump but reveals he was absolutely terrified the entire time.

"I was dating a young lady called Angelina and she said 'let's do something exciting this weekend' and 'why don't we go to Hemet, it's just outside of LA, and jump out of an airplane?' I thought, 'yeah of course sounds great'," he explained on Radio X.
Teen 'kept as slave, starved and beaten' sues adoptive parents and authoritiesSpeaking to drivetime host Johnny Vaughan, Miller added: "She was cool as a cucumber, fearless that woman. And so, we did tandem jumps and I’m not going to lie, I found it terrifying but I did it anyway." He said he'd never do a parachute jump ever again.
"I mean we actually did it three times, we did this programme where you do a bit more technical stuff each jump, and then we trained for a solo jump and then thank goodness it was too windy so we didn’t do the solo jump," the actor explained. The couple tied the knot in 1996, but split 18 months later, finalised their divorce in 2000.
The drama continues in Jolie's life even today following her split from ex Brad Pitt. He's thought to be "walking on eggshells" around her as he moves on with new girlfriend Ines de Ramon. The former couple shares six children, three are adopted - Maddox, 22, Pax, and Zahara - while three are biological - Shiloh, 17, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15.
He is reportedly keen to introduce his new partner to his children, but ideally wants to "avoid drama" with their mother, who sources claim is "their best friend." Insiders said: "Brad's walking on eggshells when it comes to introducing his children to his new girlfriend. [Angelina is] not just the kids' mother, she's their best friend.
"Can you imagine what a meeting would be like between the kids and Ines?" the source told the National Enquirer. "No wonder he's in no rush to make the introductions!" The 60-year-old has been dating Ines since late 2022. His relationship with Ines seems to be going great, as the insider said: "He is in a loving relationship, his relationship with most of his kids is loving [and] he’s in a good place."
The insider told US Weekly: "All Brad wants this year is for his kids and himself to be happy." Brad has recently been in the news after two of his adopted children slammed him for his parenting. His son Pax, 20, called him a "world-class a**hole" on Instagram while his daughter, Zahara, 18, dropped her father's last name as she joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority at Spelman College. Ines is reportedly Brad's first relationship since his separation from Angelina in 2016. The divorce was finalised in 2019.
