Former Germany boss Hansi Flick is itching to get back into management and has changed agents to make it happen.

Flick has been without a job since being sacked by Germany in the wake of a damaging 4-1 defeat by Japan in September. The 58-year-old previously took charge of Bayern Munich between 2019 and 2021 and he is now keen to get back into club management.

His desire to get back into the business comes at an opportune moment, with two high-profile jobs available in the summer. Liverpool are searching for a new manager for the first time since late 2015 after Jurgen Klopp announced his decision to step down at the end of the season, while Barcelona need to find a successor to Xavi Hernandez.

Sky Sports Germany report that Flick is on the shortlist for the Barca job and has also had inquiries from the Premier League in recent weeks. Having refreshed himself following a punishing end to his time with Germany, he is ready to jump back in as soon as possible.

To make that happen, Flick has changed agents, hiring Pini Zahavi and his Gol International agency to represent him. While Liverpool and Barcelona are actively looking for new managers, Flick is also keeping a close eye on his old club Bayern Munich where Thomas Tuchel is under huge pressure.

Bayern are five points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga after a 3-0 defeat by Xabi Alonso’s side. Jose Mourinho has been linked with Tuchel’s job and Flick has deep connections, having been assistant to Nico Kovac there before becoming manager.

Flick won a staggering seven titles in 19 months in charge, including a treble, before leaving for the Germany job. That role did not go to plan, with Joachim Low’s former assistant overseeing their exit in the group stages from the Qatar World Cup and claiming just four wins from his last 16 matches before he was sacked last year.

HAVE YOUR SAY! Who should replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool? Comment below.

Whether he is of interest to Liverpool remains to be seen – but the club’s hierarchy will certainly be aware of what he can offer. Liverpool will use a href="https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-xabi-alonso-bayer-leverkusen-32101769">extremely confident he will stay beyond the summer.

“The way we operate as a football club is to make sure we look at all the information and all the data, we've done our proper due diligence and then make a decision and have an announcement at that time,” Liverpool chief executive Billy Hogan said of their process.

"I can't commit to a timeline on it. It will go on in the background and we will ensure we are doing everything possible to make sure we make the right decision for the future of this football club.” Other names linked with the Liverpool job include Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim, Brighton ’s Roberto De Zerbi and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.
