Man accused of stealing beer from newlywed wife's work after decapitating her
A man accused of decapitating his newlywed wife has allegedly been caught on camera stealing beer from her workplace just hours after the killing.
Disturbing CCTV footage from a convenience store in Texas, obtained by local media, appeared to show Jared Dicus, 21, picking up a beer before drinking it and leaving without paying.
Police claimed he killed his wife, Anggy Diaz, 21, who worked in the shop, on the same day. He had married her just four months earlier.
Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidry said authorities found Diaz's body last Wednesday at a home the couple shared in a rural area near Magnolia, which is located about 44 miles northwest of Houston.
Police found Anggy's head and a kitchen knife - believed to have been used as the murder weapon - inside the property.
Double killer who slit girlfriend's throat within weeks of release jailedDescribing the grisly finds made at the scene, he told reporters: "It was a portion of a body dismembered and a residence that was covered in blood. So a gruesome scene at best.
"Everything happened on the property. And all parts and pieces were recovered and submitted for evidence."
Dicus was found at the murder scene and arrested, with the sheriff telling reporters that he later confessed to the killing.
Guidry added that authorities were still trying to determine a motive.
Diaz's friends told KHOU-TV that she was an immigrant from Nicaragua who had been working two jobs to help fund her mother's cancer treatment back home.
Waller County Judge Trey Duhon said in a statement on Facebook that he had married the couple in October, writing: "I'm greatly saddened and shocked by the news of this tragic event and my prayers are with all of their families."
Anggy's friends and family have now set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for funeral costs.
It is expected that she'll buried in the Houston area close to her family, according to the New York Post.
