Adele has enraged her European fanbase after the sky-high cost of tickets to her upcoming summer shows were revealed.

The 35-year-old Rolling In The Deep singer is to play a string of concerts in Munich this August - singing outdoors at a bespoke open-air arena large enough to fit 80,000 fans each night. But it seems the fans that will attend will need to be flush with money as tickets are being flogged for almost £1,000.

Fans had to register for tickets to the concerts - with general sale tickets finally becoming available last Friday. But many have been left balking at the cost of top seats at the ten night residency. Premier tickets are billed at £984 per seat - and even the cheapest remaining tickets will set fans back £280 after all tickets at £60 sold out.

The Munich concerts are the first gigs on mainland Europe that Adele is performing in eight years. Fans have also been left frustrated after being forced to wait in virtual queues of up to 270,000 before being able to buy tickets. As a result, some fans have been left deflated and angry over the ticket booking process.

One disgruntled fan told The Sun: "After pre-registering and enduring a queue of nearly 200,000 people, I was excited to finally get my turn. But all the cheap seats were gone and the remaining tickets were priced at just over £300 — which I found way too steep. I logged off, feeling like she’s gotten a bit greedy. I’m a huge fan and think she’s wonderful but just can’t justify spending that.”

And another worked out they had paid less money jetting to New York to watch Adele perform at Madison Square Garden rather than flying to Germany to watch her this summer. Adele announced her Munich dates at the end of last month. She wrote online: “So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows. I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans.

“However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea - a one off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on? Ohh!? Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? That’s a bit random, but still fabulous! Right after the Euros? Come on England! With the Olympics next door? Go on Simone! And some of my favourite artists playing shows too? Why…YES!! I haven’t played in Europe since 2016! I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer. Guten Tag babes.”
