Suit stars Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht say they've had 'zero communication' with Meghan Markle

Suits actors Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams have had 'zero communication' with their former co-star Meghan Markle, despite acting together for several years.

In the drama, Macht played the role of Harvey Reginald Specter, a former corporate attorney with Adams playing his associate Mike Ross. Meghan Markle played Adams' on screen love interest Rachel Zane before leaving the series in 2017, as her relationship with Prince Harry grew. The Suits stars were seen attending Meghan and Harry's wedding in 2018, yet it appears their friendship hasn't stood the test of time with the actors now no longer in contact with their former co-stars.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter on the set of T-Mobile's Super Bowl commercial, the actors were asked if they had been in contact with their former co-star Meghan Markle. However it appears the friendship has drifted, with the pair explaining they haven't spoken to the Duchess of Sussex at all.

Macht said: "I have not communicated with her other than seeing her big support for the resurgence, and that has been really nice." Adams followed up as he added: "Zero. No, no communication." He then took the moment to crack a joke as he pretended his phone was ringing as he said saying: "Oh, hold on. There she is. Oh, got to go."

The conversation comes after Suits stars were reunited at the Golden Globes, with Meghan notably absent. Taking to the red carpet, Adams and Macht were joined by Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres in what appeared to be a Suits reunion. The meet up came as it was revealed the legal drama had a resurgence on Netflix last summer, reaching record breaking numbers.

In November last year, Meghan was asked why the legal drana was so popular as she told Variety: “I have no idea. It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit. But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it."

According to recent reports, NBCUniversal has had the green light to go ahead with Suits: Los Angeles, with several episodes "already written". Meghan has reportedly been offered "one of the biggest TV deals" of 2024, with her also understood to have been offered the chance to direct an episode of the spin-off series, which will see her make her debut as a Hollywood director.

However despite the return of Suits with its new spin off, Meghan hasn't been confirmed to be part of the series. The cast is still yet to be announced, but last month The Express reported that contract talks are ongoing between the network and Meghan's powerhouse talent agency WME. The source said: "This is shaping up to be one of the biggest TV deals of the year." They went on to say that "Meghan is in a commanding position", revealing: "They want her back and they are prepared to pay what it takes to get her."

The paper also revealed that Suits: Los Angeles "will feature a female lead who bears both an uncanny resemblance to Meghan’s previous character Rachel", with this character described as "tailor-made" for Meghan and a "dream role" for the Duchess.
