A synopsis for the upcoming show teases: "Opening Night follows a theatre company's preparations to stage a new play on Broadway. But drama ignites backstage when their leading lady is rocked by tragedy, and her personal turmoil forces everyone to deliver the performance of their lives."

It marks Sheridan's return to the West End stage, following her appearance in a production of the play Shirley Valentine at the Duke of York's Theatre last year. And the actor has previously starred in several stage musicals in the area too.

She notably played Fanny Brice in a revival of Funny Girl at the Savoy Theatre in 2016. The role led to acclaim, with Sheridan's performance earning her a nominated for an Olivier Award. She went on to appear in the UK tour.

Her other theatre credits include having played Elle Woods in original West End production of the musical Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre from 2009 to 2011. She won her first Oliver Award for the role as well as other accolades.
