Lorraine Kelly Q&A hijacked by fans who troll her over regular ITV show absence
TV fans have ruthlessly mocked Lorraine Kelly over an upcoming appearance on the BBC’s The One Show.
The 64-year-old television icon is set to appear on the BBC’s popular evening talk show on Tuesday where she is set to discuss a new book she is releasing. And while fans are excited to learn the Scottish star will be on screens in the evening, many have been disappointed that she is not featuring on her ITV morning show this week.
Lorraine has the week of her usual gig - her absence coinciding with school held term break in England. Still, she is expected to be interviewed by hosts Alex Jones, 46, and Jermaine Jenas, 40, on the red sofa tonight.
The One Show’s official X account had asked fans to send in questions for the show hosts to share with Lorraine. But many wanted to know why Lorraine was absent so often from her own show.

The X account encouraged fans to send in questions for the ITV talk show host - but the stunt backfired as many TV fans bombarded The One Show account to ask why she never hosts her own show.

One follower remarked: "So she can be on the One Show but not present her own show? Make it make sense, dorl." Another questioned: "I just want to ask, how comes you appear on every tv show in existence except your own? And why do you have every school half term off from presenting it? Thanks!"
While another asked: "Why aren’t you hosting your OWN show this week Lorraine?" And a further fan predicted the backlash, writing: "I just knew what the replies would be to this Tweet, and I wasn’t disappointed."
Fans of ITV's Lorraine have long complained that she is often absent from the morning talk show. A dedicated Twitter account, titled 'Where is Lorraine?' has been tracking how often she has hosted the show this year - and who has been filling in while she is away. On Tuesday, the account commented: "Lorraine Kelly did not host her own show this morning with Ranvir Singh stepping in. #Lorraine has hosted 24 episodes out of 31 (77.4%) this year, Ranvir has hosted 3 and Christine Lampard has hosted 4."
Lorraine will not be the only famous face on the One Show’s red sofa tonight. Acting legend Sir Ian McKellen, 84, will also be featuring on the show. Again, asking fans for questions, the show X account declared: “Acting royalty on #TheOneShow tonight! Sir @IanMcKellen joins us to talk all about starring in a film version of ‘Hamlet’, as well as his new play, ‘Player Kings’."
The One Show airs on BBC One week nights at 7pm, while Lorraine airs on ITV1 week day mornings at 9am.
