Marks & Spencer's 'classy' bag looks like Hermes Kelly but costs £10k less

There's no doubt that the high street is the best place to find accessible takes on runway styles at affordable prices. If you're looking to refresh your wardrobe ahead of spring, our latest find from M&S is an absolute must.

We've found a utterly-gorgeous handbag which looks like a famous designer accessory, and it will save you thousands of pounds. Marks and Spencer's Faux Leather Top Handle Tote Bag is a dead-ringer for the Hermès Kelly Sellier in Black Epsom Leather.

Already selling fast, the popular M&S item costs just £39.50, while the similar-looking Hermès is being sold for £16,450 at Sellier Knightsbridge. But a pre-owned version of the Kelly bag will set you back even more at FARFETCH, where it costs £24,500.

Other second-hand sites have listed the designer piece for over £10,000, but Marks and Spencer's version is under £40.

Many shoppers have heaped praise on the M&S bag and even claim that it gets mistaken for designer when they wear it.

The faux-leather accessory features a twist lock on the flap closure, two internal compartments and a handy slip pocket, perfect for keeping your items organised.

Depending on the look you're after, it can be carried by the top handles or worn across the body. There are two colours available: black and tan - but both are being snapped up quickly.

One five-star reviewer said of the item: "Super bag that I have received numerous compliments on. People genuinely think it’s designer. So I’ve now ordered the beige one."

While another added: "An elegant looking bag looks more expensive than what it was, very roomy inside, had a shoulder strap which is great."

And someone else, who purchased it as a gift, wrote: "Bought as a present for my daughter in law, she loves it. Sections and pockets make it practical, along with the choice of either handbag or shoulder/cross body bag. The high quality of the materials make it look far more expensive than it is."

But some shoppers were "disappointed" with the quality of M&S's bag, with one saying it "scuffs easily".
