Perrie Edwards has just launched a new account on social media ahead of her highly-anticipated solo debut and she's been supported by her Little Mix bandmates this week.

The singer-songwriter, 30, is preparing to release her first single as a solo artist in the coming months. She's hosting an event on Tuesday, which is rumoured to be a listening party, amid fans' excitement about her upcoming music.

She has now launched a new account on Instagram. Perrie took to the platform on Monday to share a photo of herself. The caption simply read: "Perrie". It was a joint post by her account and one for 'Perrie HQ'. The latter was made last month but has only just become active on the platform.

The joint post has amassed more than 160,000 likes. And it prompted reaction from Perrie's bandmates, who shared their support in the comments section. Alongside a heart eyed emoji, Leigh-Anne Pinnock wrote: "Let's gooooo." Whilst Jade Thirlwall, who is already following the new page, simply posted a heart eyed emoji in her response.

The new account, which is said to be run by Perrie and her team, promises to provide "the latest news" and "updates". A page with the same name has also been launched on TikTok this week, where Perrie similarly already had an account.

A post shared on both platforms by the page teases in the caption: "Welcome to Perrie HQ. Follow us for the latest news and updates on everything in [Perrie's] world." It included a video that showed Perrie sat behind a desk.

The video shows Perrie receiving a call from a number listed as 'Perrie HQ'. Seemingly referencing the line used by Mariah Carey to usher in the holiday season each year, Perrie said upon answering the phone: "Is it time? It's time!"

Another video was shared on the new page's Instagram Story this afternoon. The Brit Award winner tells fans in the clip: "Hey everyone! Welcome to Perrie HQ. This will be ran by my absolutely amazing team and I will popping in now and again if I can remember my password; you know what I'm like. But yeah, make sure you come here for updates and all things ... moi. Mwah, love you guys."

It's understood that Perrie has dropped her surname from her TikTok username and she's referred to solely by her first name in recent posts on Instagram, including the caption of the joint post. It's led some fans to suspect that she may launch herself as a solo artist by her first name alone, like mononymous acts such as Madonna and Beyoncé did.

One person tweeted this afternoon: "Her artistic name is just Perrie omg." Someone else said: "Perrie Edwards has dropped her surname from her TikTok username, implying that she'll just be going as 'Perrie' for her solo career."

Another person speculated about the possibility: "Could she possibly go just by perrie for her solo career?" Whilst someone else wrote on the platform earlier: "She can definitely go as just 'Perrie' since her name is so unique."
