Chloe Madeley has hit back after being criticised for posting pictures of her baby daughter in hospital.

Mum-of-one Chloe, 36, who shares 18-month old daughter Bodhi with ex-husband James Haskell confirmed the news on social media over the weekend. Chloe shared a photo of herself cradling her daughter in a hospital bed and noted that Bodhi needed treatment for a respiratory issue.

Alongside a black-and-white photo of herself and her daughter, doting mum Chloe, 36, told her Instagram followers: “Bodhi absolutely fine now FYI, she had croup, scary and distressing but dealt with swiftly.”

TV star Chloe also shared images of her little girl tucking into a packet of crisps, writing: “Long night but she's thrilled about vending machine Quavers for breakfast.”

However, after updating fans on Bodhi's condition, Chloe faced some backlash from a number of keyboard warriors who claimed that she was 'attention seeking' by posting pictures of her daughter when she was in such a vulnerable condition.

On Sunday night, Chloe took to her Instagram stories to hit back as she wrote: "To my small percentage of trolls... last night got scary around 5am. By 5.45 we were in hospital. All photos were taken and posted around 10am while waiting to be discharged and honestly it was because the Quavers photo was so cute - I couldn't stop laughing at my crisp mad girl.

"I then realised it could yet again be called 'cryptic' as we were clearly at the hospital, so I gave a quick NON DRAMATIC update. There's no enjoyment to be had when you're scared for your child. You do not care for my child more than I do. Stop with that nonsense," Chloe fumed.

The mum-of-one went on: " You can only laugh and smile again once your children are better and things resume to normal. THANK GOD. You really don't know what happened NOR the timeline of it happening. So, to presume you do is at best annoying, more accurately, wrong."

Chloe finished off the post by thanking the doctors and nurses who looked after Bodhi. "Thank you to the NHS for yet again being there when our family needed you. I hope some people read up on croup and know what to do. It's scary, but it's common, and treatable. I'll never not stand up to ignorant comments on the internet. Ever. Nor should anyone, in my opinion."

While they are both doting parents to Bodhi, Chloe and 38-year-old rugby star James’ relationship crumbled in September. The pair, who tied the knot in 2018, did reunite for Christmas and Chloe - who is the daughter of broadcaster Richard Madeley - insists the two still co-parent "really well" and and feel comfortable with the situation.

Appearing on Loose Women last month, Chloe opened up about the difficult few months she has endured but said spending the festive period together was wonderful for Bodhi.

"I've got my space and he's got his space and he'll come back a few nights a week and see Bodhi. He'll be hands-on dad and I'll sleep and then two days later off he goes - perfect. But I think he should be moving out in the next few weeks," Chloe said.

"It's all for Bodhi, it's not about James. He's got this new place and I'm going to move in for a week with Bodhi so she can settle in and know the environment and understand that she's safe and we're all there for her."

Addressing the end of her marriage, she said: "I always say this. If you think of a relationship, you have pillars in place that keep the relationship up, whether that's respect or kind of affection or trust and all these things. And all of our pillars - over time, it didn't just happen - over time, they kind of disintegrated. I think when that happens, there is no rebuilding.

“But we're great friends. He's the most incredible dad... Since we parted ways, our relationship has become very respectful. We love each other as friends, but we lost the ability for it to be more."
