Peter Andre reassured fans that he's looking after his wife Emily MacDonagh after she revealed her third pregnancy has been 'a lot harder' than the rest.

The Mysterious Girl singer, 50, and the NHS doctor, 34, announced her pregnancy in October. In recent months, the duo have been sharing updates on her pregnancy journey as they prepare to welcome their third child together. Emily and Peter already share Amelia, nine, and Theo, seven.

She's also stepmother to his and ex-wife Katie Price's children Junior, 18, and Princess, 16. In a recent instalment of ITV's Lorraine, Emily said it has been 'harder' for her. She explained: "It's been harder and I don't know if it's because I'm older or because I have two kids already. It has definitely been a little bit more challenging but I think that's going to be expected isn't it?

"The more pregnancies you have I guess that get a little bit more challenging but I love it and it's a precious time and I can't believe it's coming to an end which makes me think I really need to relish these times."

Following his interview, Peter took to his column to touch upon the difficult pregnancy. "We’re a matter of months away from welcoming our newest family member – how exciting!" he told OK! Magazine. "Emily mentioned on Lorraine that this has been her toughest pregnancy and I can assure you all, I’ve been looking after her.

"She is a trooper though. No matter how tough it gets, she just gets on with things but, as always, I’ll be sure to look out for her." In a recent interview with Good Morning Britain, Peter opened up on the details of Emily's pregnancy, including the due date and the gender.

At the end of January, Peter said of how Emily's doing: "She's good, I really have a lot of respect when you see what they go through." Host Susanna Reid then asked: "How many weeks now until?" to which Peter revealed: "Probably eight or nine!" Co-host, Richard Madeley, then asked: "Do you know what you're having?" to which Peter quipped: "A baby!", although he added: "No, we haven't, this is the first time [we haven't found out] because this is the last time we're having a child... I think!"

Asked if it would be a surprise, Peter said: "Yeah, we're going to have a surprise this time. So lovely!", the presenters then joked if it was triplets or twins but Peter insisted: "Oh gosh, don't say that... just one [baby]!" Peter and Emily shared their happy news last October, posting a scan photo alongside the caption: "We are delighted to share the news with you all. A new addition to our family in 2024. The kids are so excited, so are we @dr_emily_official."
