Love Island's Chris Taylor said "a chat is needed" with villa flame Joanna Chimonides, amid comments 'made by their families' about their romance.

Chris and Joanna were paired up on the ITV show, before Joanna was voted off the series last week, followed by Chris days later. The pair had been seeing how things were going, while Joanna had shared she was keen to get to know Callum Jones too.

The pair had a slight falling out on the series, while any drama was put behind them when Joanna got upset during a challenge. Their co-stars had commented they were one of the couples with the least compatibility, leaving them both annoyed and Joanna was in tears.

It wasn't long after that that Joanna left the show, and the next evening Chris followed. As Chris sat down for his chat with host Maya Jama, he confessed Joanna left at an "awkward" time and before they could really see where things were going for them.

He's now keen to have a chat with Joanna and see if things can continue, with him admitting he fancied her for four years before the series. He told her: "We definitely need a conversation," admitting he had been "left with questions" about where they stood.

Chris had also shared his confusion over the compatibility vote, given the same Islanders apparently told the pair they were "the same person" and were a match. After Joanna seemed to lose interest in Chris, she later told Maya after leaving that she'd hoped they'd reconcile.

She said: "My experience with Chris was beautiful. We really got along and got to know each other on a different level. It's a shame how it's ended now as I think we might have reconciled and come back together. Chris is so caring and protective of me, he's lovely."

But things might get awkward after the families of the stars didn't seem to back them as a pairing, with Chris apparently "deserving better", while Joanna's family backed her and Callum as a couple. After commenting on the pair, Joanna's loved ones also liked a comment by a fan that read: "I predicted this couple was gonna happen! I think they are more suited to each other! I'm all for it."

Meanwhile days earlier, someone posted on Chris' Instagram Stories: "A tough one to watch for our Chris, especially as his family and friends know he has so much to give. His humour is just another wonderful part of him that we love."

They added: "Hopefully someone will realise that it's just him as a person and another reason to love him." Their post included screen shots from fans who had messaged Chris saying: "He deserves so much better."

It comes as one Love Island star hit out at the show after he was dropped from the series, with fans showing support for the Islander online - calling his exit "unfair". Viewers were left fuming in the week, as a surprise double elimination saw Joanna and Joe Garratt axed from the show.

Joe had only arrived days earlier and was paired up with Arabella Chi, but his recent arrival didn't save him from the elimination process. Now, with another dumping looming it was confirmed new bombshell Adam Maxted had been given immunity from the vote.

Seeing this twist, Joe spoke out over his exit and appeared to question why he wasn't awarded the same immunity, given he too was a new arrival and in a new couple. Commenting under a Love Island Instagram post, he said: "Immunity sounds nice, I wonder what that’s like," with a laughing emoji.

But fans shared his annoyance over the new twist, saying it was "unfair" that Joe was not given the same luxury. With over 3000 likes on the comment, viewers shared their own thoughts calling out the show. One viewer posted: "haha yep you should have received immunity." Another said: "you don’t deserve what they did to you!" as a third wrote: "fr you should’ve been safe."

Fans also began commenting under the post, with one commenting: "So if Adam is immune from the vote as he’s new then why wasn’t Joe?" Another agreed: "God knows, that was unfair," as a third posted: "Why Joe didn’t receive immunity is beyond me??"
