Date, venue and city confirmed for Super Bowl LIX in 2025
The Super Bowl, the biggest game in American sports, is hosted in different cities each year. This year's, Super Bowl LVIII, will be held at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, will defend their title against the San Francisco 49ers. After this, all eyes will be on Super Bowl LIX, which will take place at the Caesars Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints, on Feb. 9, 2025.
The game has been moved because of Mardi Gras, the huge party that happens in New Orleans every year. The city will be super busy on Fat Tuesday, which is on February 13, just two days after the Super Bowl was supposed to happen.

Peter O'Reilly from the NFL said: "Obviously Mardi Gras is an event that takes over that great city and is the pulse of that city in every way during that time."
"And the Super Bowl is quite a spectacle as well, in terms of hotel capacities and events and everything going on down there at the convention center. So it's really not practical to have those simultaneously taking place in New Orleans."
Mardi Gras in 2025 will be on March 4, which is almost a month after Super Bowl LIX.

Ironically, Super Bowl LVIII was set to be staged at the Superdome, but the NFL was forced to move the date when the regular season was expanded by a week and a clash with Mardi Gras would have occurred. Las Vegas is instead hosting the spectacular season finale for the very first time.
The Chiefs are playing against the 49ers in the Super Bowl LVIII and a win for Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and head coach Andy Reid, they could make history by winning three times in a row at the next Super Bowl in New Orleans.
