Holly Willoughby's A-list pals share sweet messages as she celebrates birthday
Holly Willoughby has been flooded with birthday messages from her celebrity friends.
The former This Morning host is looking forward to a new year as she celebrates her 43rd birthday. She has had a tumultuous last 12 months from quitting the ITV daytime show after 14 years to being at the centre of a kidnap and murder plot. Holly has since made a triumphant return to TV screens for Dancing On Ice, after spending months out of the public eye.
The mum-of-three was celebrated by her famous pals as she marked her birthday. Spice Girls star Emma Bunton took to her Instagram to post a selfie with Holly and Michael McIntyre. She wrote: "Happy birthday my beautiful friend @hollywilloughby." Nicole Appleton also shared a tribute to the presenter.
Posting a selfie to her Instagram, Nicole added birthday emojis to the snap and gushed "Happy birthday," and "love you." Leigh Francis, also known as Keith Lemon, sent a birthday message to Holly by sharing a series of photos of the pair over the years. Former co-star Alison Hammond also shared a snap along with the message: "Happy birthday queen. Have the best day, you deserve it."
Presenter Christine Lampard posted a picture of her laughing alongside Holly as she wrote: "Happy Birthday gorgeous girl @hollywilloughby Hope you’re having the best day!!!" Model and presenter Abbey Clancy also shared a message to Holly as she shared a photo from Glastonbury. She gushed: "Love you, birthday girl."
Phillip Schofield mocks Molly-Mae's baby name in cruel swipe at Love Island starHolly's sister Kelly also wished her a happy birthday on social media with a childhood photo. She wrote: "Happy, happy birthday my darling Holly Dolly. Love you more than a Tommy’s Margarita … can’t say it any clearer than that! Have the best day." Earlier in the week Holly made an appearance at a charity gala.
She headed on a night out with her friends at the Love GOSH gala dinner for Great Ormond Street Hospital on Thursday evening. Holly thanked her friend and makeup artist Patsy O'Neill for accompanying her to the event as she looked gorgeous in a black cut-out gown with silver sequins.
Holly had also reunited with her former This Morning co-star after quitting the show last year. The Dancing on Ice star enjoyed a cosy night with chef Clodagh McKenna as the pair enjoyed a meal together. Clodagh shared an insight into their catch-up and showed how their friendship remains strong after Holly's shock exit.
Holly reposted a picture of the night from Clodagh's Instagram and captioned the post: "Dreamy evening...thank you @clodagh_mckenna." Clodagh's original post showed a selection of gorgeous-looking desserts with the words: "Hot chocolate puddings at home... with my beautiful girls @imedaoffical @hollywilloughby @shishib." Clodagh has been part of This Morning's team for a number of years.
Four months ago, Holly quit This Morning as she revealed she needed to put her family first after an alleged kidnap threat. At the time, she wrote: "I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.
“Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day. Richard and Judy said, ‘We only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers'. It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much."
