The Premier League heats up

The Premier League is witnessing a three-horse race for the title, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City all fighting for the top prize in English football. None of the teams can afford to slip up, but the Premier League is as unpredictable as they come, so where the title will end up is anyone’s guess.
While the title race will likely mean that these teams will be securing the top three places in the league this season, the rest of the qualifying positions for the European competitions are still up in the air. With plenty of teams bunched tightly together, as many as eight teams besides the title contenders are in with a chance at claiming the four remaining places available. With so many teams in contention, February could play a pivotal role in deciding which teams need to grab their passports for a European adventure next season.
While these teams dream of European adventures, the only priority for the teams at the foot of the table is survival. With several teams only separated by a handful of points, there will be plenty of fans looking nervously over their shoulders and hoping for their side to be spared the humiliation and agony of relegation from the top flight.

The Group Stages have been complete, and the knockout phase of the Champions League starts here. Just 16 teams remain – who will make it to the final?
There are plenty of big sides still left in the competition, and this has led to the prospect of some entertaining games. Arsenal marked their return to the competition for the first time since 2016 by topping their group and have been rewarded with a tie against Porto. Another game that is sure to excite neutrals everywhere is Inter vs Atletico Madrid – both sides are evenly matched and will be pulling out all the stops to ensure they make it through to the quarter-finals.
Several European heavyweights are still in the fight to lift the prestigious trophy at Wembley in May, with Manchester City, Barcelona, PSG and Bayern Munich all firm favourites to progress. Not only do these sides have the strongest sides on the continent, but they have also been handed very favourable draws against much weaker opposition - in the form of Copenhagen, Napoli, Real Sociedad and RB Leipzig respectively - that they should easily brush aside.

The famous competition has produced many shocks over the years, and there’s always potential for more - particularly with heavyweights like Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City still in the mix.
This year’s competition has already seen many big names eliminated from the competition, while underdogs like Maidstone United are still in with a chance of lifting the famous trophy in May.
