Roman Kemp just had the best reaction to his parents being on The Masked Singer.

Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp and singer Shirlie Holliman were unveiled as Cat & Mouse on the ITV competition show last night - completely unbeknownst to their 29-year-old son Roman, who was in shock about the ordeal.

Taking to Instagram as he watched the moment his parents were revealed to be the faces behind the mask, the Capital Breakfast host urged his followers: “Can someone please explain what is going on?”

The next moment in the video he uploaded shows an extremely shocked Roman staring at the screen whilst panellists Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan react to the two superstars on the stage in front of them.

Tagging his parents in the caption of his post, Roman wrote: “ARE YOU JOKING THO”.

“I think it’s clear he didn’t know,” one follower penned, while another wrote: “Called it!”

“Lmfao your reaction is priceless,” wrote another, while someone else added: “Their only mission was to embarrass you!”

And the extent to which the show will go to protect contestants’ identities is remarkable. The Cheetah Girls’ Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, who appeared on The Masked Singer US in season 2, revealed that celebrities aren’t even allowed to drive themselves to the set for rehearsals or the performance.

She told : "An unmarked car service picks you up, so that no one can say 'Oh we know so-and-so drives [this car]' or whatever the case may be.

"They literally make sure all the cars are black cars, unmarked, you never know who it is."

Meanwhile, Craig Plestis, the Executive Producer of the US version said that no mobile phones are allowed on set, either. Not for the audience, the panellists, or the contestants.

Craig told : "We confiscate their phones. When they go home I'm sure they're googling like crazy; we ask them not to. But on the set, they don't have that luxury.

“They have to use their brains. It's real time information. They have to guess,” he revealed.
