Michael van Gerwen has warned his darting rivals that "there is more to come" after beating Luke Littler 6-5 in a nail-biting final to win night two of Premier League Darts in Berlin.

Van Gerwen, who didn't pick up a single point in Cardiff last week, bounced back to collect the maximum five following victories over Nathan Aspinall, Michael Smith and Littler.

It was a terrific night from 'Mighty Mike', who came from 4-1 down to beat Aspinall 6-4 and then averaged 107.1 in the semi-final against Smith. The final could have gone either way after Littler missed match darts, but Van Gerwen punished the teenager to win 6-5 and claim the £10,000 bonus.

The win moves Van Gerwen up to second in the Premier League table - two points behind Michael Smith - and the Dutchman believes he has more gears to go through. It was Van Gerwen's second victory over Littler in a matter of weeks after he won the Dutch Masters last month.

"I'm playing really well and in the important moments I was able to keep the pressure on my opponents," he told Sky Sports. "I feel good but there is more to come. I thought it was a fantastic night for darts. I'm really pleased with my own performance today, finally I was able to give it the final push.

"In this format, in the Premier League, you have to be good week after week. It's non-stop and I think that was good for me. I was always putting energy into my game and that helps me in the long run. It is only week two. Everyone was saying 'last week you lost in the first round!' Don't worry, it's not a sprint, it's a marathon."

As for Littler, he beat Rob Cross and Luke Humphries en route to the final and picked up three points to take him to five in the Premier League so far. However, Littler did achieve his pre-night goal.

"I just want to win that first game every week and get the two points on the board. Then hopefully win the semi and the final," Littler told Sky Sports ahead of his quarter-final tie against Cross.

"Rob [Cross] is a good lad. I've known him for a few years now. He might want revenge [for the World Championship semi-final], he might not. As I said, I just want to get the two points on the board."
