A sick maniac who tortured his victim to death at a house of horrors had been on a week-long bender before inflicting agony and remains on the run.

Alan Lawson, 36, was chained to a radiator where he was stabbed and beaten by his sick attacker, who shared his crimes on Snapchat. In the footage, he is seen topless and smeared in his victim’s blood. The man is believed to have held Alan hostage at a property in Scotland, over the weekend before dumping him back at his flat in Saltcoats, Ayrshire and leaving for dead. He was later found severely injured and rushed to hospital, but died two days later.

Sources told the Daily Record that Alan's killer, who is still on the run, flipped after days spent smoking cocaine and drinking to excess. They added: “He had been on a bender for a week - drinking and smoking crack. He lost it and launched into the most vicious, horrendous attack on poor Alan.

“He said he had him chained up to the radiator and had attacked him repeatedly over two or three days. He spilt his skull open and slashed him. When the booze and drugs wore off he came to his senses and panicked, so he took Alan back to his house and just dumped him there, leaving him for dead."

Alan's sister Aime penned a heartbreaking tribute to her brother online after sharing a picture of her holding Alan's hand in hospital, revealing he had passed away. She wrote: "We are lost for words, numb and devastated. I am never going to be the same again. We are all in total shock."

Officers continued to be stationed outside the house in Largs throughout Thursday. Another shocked neighbour added: “There were always guys coming and going and they liked to party. But there was no indication any of them were capable of something like this.

"No one would ever expect something this horrific to happen on their doorstep. I honestly can't believe it. The police have told us nothing, but this guy is on the loose. He could easily come back here and it makes my blood run cold to think of it."

Another resident added: "The first thing I knew about anything going on was when I saw the police putting the door in. I looked out and saw loads of officers there.

"Everyone is saying the poor guy was tortured and murdered but we haven't been told anything officially about what happened in the house or if we need to look out for the guy coming back. I hope they catch him as soon as possible. It's sickening to hear what happened, absolutely horrible."
