A mum has been left gobsmacked after her rude neighbour threatened her with police action over her 'giggling' child. She explained how her neighbour shoved a letter through her door ordering her to stop her child from laughing in the back garden because it's disrupting his pets.

The note, which has resurfaced on Reddit, reads: "Dear neighbour. You just moved into this neighborhood a year ago, and I wanted to give you time to correct this problem on your own, but you are apparently too inconsiderate to do so. Every day this week, when the weather has been nice and windows are open, you proceed to let your small child run free in your backyard and laugh and giggle and carry on without end.

"This is very disruptive for my two dogs and my bird who sits next to the window and likes to look into your yard. Perhaps you could ask him to tone it down a bit, or at least limit his time outside to 15 to 20 minutes a day so my dogs can be outside without seeing him running around.

"If this kind of behaviour persists, I will call the police." Disgusted by the letter, the mum posted it on social media to hear what other users thought about it. In response, one user said: "Time to buy the kid a snare drum." Another user joked: "Guess you should put your kids up for adoption."

A third user said: "Wow your neighbor is out of his mind! Who the hell thinks like that?? Society really worries me when we have idiots like that who drive cars. I would throw the letter back in his yard or write a big "F" yourself on it and tape it to his door. Christ! Good luck with him though."
