Simon Cowell's fiancée stuns at swanky gala with Prince William and Tom Cruise
Simon Cowell's fiancée Lauren Silverman looked gorgeous as she attended a charity bash alongside royalty and A-listers.
The socialite, who shares son Eric with the music mogul, wowed in a black gown at the Air Ambulance gala held at Raffles in London. She paired the floor-length dress with strappy black heels and gold hooped earrings. Lauren wore her luscious black hair down and swept over one shoulder.
The mum-of-two beamed as she posed for photos with her friend at the star-studded event. Lauren and the Britain's Got Talent judge have been together since 2013. They welcomed their son Eric a year later. Lauren also has a son named Adam from a previous relationship.
Lauren and Simon confirmed their engagement in January 2022 and have been planning their wedding since. However, Simon in the past has teased about having a "spontaneous" wedding day with wife-to-be Lauren. He said he would whisk Lauren down an aisle at the drop of the hat rather than plan an over-the-top ceremony. Simon confessed he is the wedding planner in the relationship, otherwise Lauren would make it "out of control". He also said the exact plans would be a secret - even for his fiancée.
Simon did not make an appearance at the gala with Lauren on Wednesday night. Yet the Prince of Wales and Tom Cruise were in attendance, with Prince William giving a speech where he thanked the nation for "kind messages of support" to his family. It was the first time he had addressed the public since King Charles was diagnosed with cancer and Princess Kate underwent abdominal surgery.
Simon Cowell set on fire by Britain's Got Talent hopeful in terrifying stuntHe said: "I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you, also, for the kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father, especially in recent days. It means a great deal to us all. It's fair to say the past few weeks have had a rather 'medical' focus. So I thought I'd come to an air ambulance function to get away from it all!"
Prince William also made a few more jokes during his speech - with one directed at his "fellow pilot" Tom Cruise, a nod to his famous Top Gun and Mission Impossible roles. He said: "I should also take this opportunity to give a mention to my - our - fellow pilot, Tom Cruise. Tom, huge thanks for supporting us tonight.
"And if you wouldn't mind not borrowing either of the new helicopters for the next Mission Impossible, it would be appreciated. We have all seen on our screens that - how can I put it - you seem to have a different take on 'normal wear and tear' to the rest of us. It's not the kind that buffs out, that's for sure."
A-lister Tom is surprisingly close to the Royal Family, with the actor having roles in both the late Queen's Jubilee and King Charles' Coronation. He met the late Princess Diana in the 90s and went on to become "chums" with her. He was said to be devastated upon hearing of her death following a tragic car accident in 1997.
