Was Holly Valance a communist before she wed a billionaire?

The ex-Neighbours actress posed in a hammer and sickle tank top years before backing Jacob Rees-Mogg for PM at the Tory Party’s PopCon event. She also praised “30p Lee” Anderson this week for being “sensible... for real people”.

Since marrying property magnate and Tory donor Nick Candy, the Australian now reckons every left-winger grows out of their “crap ideas”. Asked if she was a conservative, Holly said everyone “wakes up at some point after you start either making money, working, trying to run a business, trying to buy a home, then realise what crap ideas they all are – and then you go to the Right.” The old pictures resurfaced after she made her comments.

Holly, who played Flick in Neighbours, also scoffs at the idea of a climate crisis. The ex-pop star added: “The air is better than when I was growing up. It used to stink walking down the street.” Holly blasted “restrictions on people trying to go about their business and get to work, pick up children from school, go to the supermarket”, saying: “It’s like smashing your head up against a wall every day.”

Hinting she may get a career as a commentator, she ruled out venturing into politics saying she would be “more interesting from the side”. Funnily enough, she was speaking to GB News – where she would be well suited.
