LIV Golf fans have been given the chance to compete in this week's Pro-Am event at Las Vegas Country Club, but will need to pay just under £8,000 ($10k) to earn a spot.

The breakaway league heads to Vegas for the very first time this week, as Sin City plays host to LIV's second event of the season. It is set to be a bumper week of sport in the Nevada city, with the Super Bowl also taking place between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Those fans in Vegas early ahead of the sporting festivities can sample what it is like to play alongside some of the best star's with vacant spots in LIV's Pro-Am, but will have to pay an eye-watering amount.

Ticket-wise it is much more affordable for fans wanting to pay general admission, with ground passes for the opening day on Friday starting at a reasonable £37 ($47). Saturday and Sunday sees a slight increase, with tickets costing £40 ($51) for round two and £45 ($57) for round three.

Those wanting to splash the cash aside from the Pro-Am can still do so on tournament days, with hospitality available for upwards of £1,200 ($1.56k) for one day. LIV will no doubt be hoping to capitalise on an exciting start to their season last week in Mayakoba.

With their PGA Tour rivals out of action after play was suspended at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, last Sunday was all about LIV Golf, and the Saudi-backed league did not disappoint as their campaign opener came to an end with a tense four-hole playoff.

It was 36-hole leader Joaquin Niemann who eventually prevailed, as he saw off Sergio Garcia in near darkness to win his first ever LIV Golf event. And with the Super Bowl just six miles down the round from this week's event, those competing are more than looking forward to the Vegas atmosphere.

Bryson DeChambeau told LIVGolf.com: “It’s going to be a special event. There’s going to be a lot of buzz around the city. It’s going to be a fun-filled event. It’s going to be electric.” This was echoed by Dustin Johnson who added: "I think it’s going to be fantastic. It’s the week of the Super Bowl. Vegas is going to be buzzing.”

Keen to showcase exactly what the LIV product is about, Phil Mickelson commented: "LIV Golf Las Vegas is an opportunity to showcase what LIV Golf can bring to the U.S. … In the U.S., our demographic is much younger than the traditional golf fan. To be in Las Vegas the week of the Super Bowl, that’s the demographic we’re trying to hit.”
