Man's snide note orders neighbours to give 'woman in Sedan' dirty looks
A man has made it his mission to turn his entire neighbourhood against the 'selfish' woman who abused his free library. The man, named Sam, decided to open a small library outside his home using all his own books as a good deed for fellow residents - but not long after opening it, a woman in a gold Sedan car took all the stock.
In response, he penned a 'passive aggressive' note to make sure it never happened again. His note, which has been shared on Reddit, reads: "Hey welcome to my free library. I built this because I think sharing ideas with your neighbours is pretty neat. Take a book or two, enjoy it, and if you remember, bring it back to the library so others can read it. Also feel free to bring some books of your own."
However, he suspected that the books were being taken and then sold, and added to the note, saying: "PS. There's a lady who drives a gold Sedan with Georgia tags who has stolen all of the books out of the library several times. If you see her, give her a mean glare for me. If you are that lady... c'mon man." Commenting on his note, many social media users shared possible ways he could stop the book thief in her tracks.
One said: "Start drawing on the covers. It'll ruin the resell value but people who just want to read won't care," while another suggested: "Get big stickers made that wrap around the cover of the book that targets the thief." A third poster said: "Got this far wondering if Reddit has found her yet and it doesn't seem so. What's going on? Once my pitchfork is unsheathed..."
One poster wanted to know more about the thief and Sam came on to the thread to tell other users: "Well, first she parked her dumbass car in the bike lane that runs in front of my house then she got out, looked in the library, and then literally took over 20 books and dumped them in her trunk. They were all books that I donated to the library and the stupid thing sat empty for like a month before one of my neighbours took pity on me. I literally had no more books of my own to put in."
'My selfish neighbour stole our parking spot - my revenge means he'll regret it'Many others said they would help out by donating books to keep the library going, with one saying: "I am going to be inheriting literally seven rooms full of books, mostly sci-fi and fantasy, from my father who passed back in December. I doubt I will want to keep all of them. I'd be willing to send you some to restock with. I'd even be willing to take the emotional hit of tearing off their covers so she can't sell them."
