The final season of hit US sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm is now airing in the UK. The acclaimed long-running series stars Larry David as a fictional version of himself and follows the amusing misadventures of the semi-retired Seinfeld creator as he struggles to navigate everyday life in Los Angeles.

Each episode sees Larry fall victim to a series of social faux pas in the series which has become iconic in the comedy world since its 2000 debut and is renowned for its improvised dialogue. For 24 years, Curb has combined Larry’s social awkwardness, politically incorrect behaviour and lack of filters to cultivate a hugely successful, beloved and hilarious satire on modern life.

In December, David released a statement announcing the new season of the HBO-produced comedy would be its last, writing: “As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character.

“And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”
