NFL star Patrick Mahomes intends to improve his 'dad bod' - as he hopes to rival Tom Brady's Super Bowl wins record.

Despite being only 28, Mahomes has already had a phenomenal career, turning out as Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback in three Super Bowls - and winning twice. Mahomes is seeking to guide the Chiefs back-to-back to Super Bowl victories, an achievement last made by Brady's New England Patriots twenty years ago.

Victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday would give him three Super Bowl rings, with his sole loss coming against record-holder Brady and his team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, at Super Bowl LV. While Mahomes is writing plenty of NFL history himself, he still has some way to go to match Brady on the biggest stage.

He'll be stepping onto the field at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday night hoping to get closer to the records held by Brady (10 appearances) and John Elway (5 appearances). To do this, he plans to follow in Brady's footsteps, playing well into his forties, but knows it'll take commitment outside of football too.

“It takes a lot of work outside of the building,” Mahomes said. “It takes taking care of your body, it takes eating healthy and try to get rid of the dad bod that I got. But try to do whatever you can just to get healthy and go out there and be the best player that you can be.

“My hope is to take it year in and year out, but I want to play as long as they'll let me play. Fifteen years seems like long, but Brady did it and some other guys have done it so, I'm going to strive to see if I can do it as well.”

After their big win, footage showed the Kansas City team celebrating. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid gave a speech and then a shirtless Mahomes said: "Great job today. Like I've been saying, we ain't done yet."

Mahomes had a laugh online about his 'dad bod' becoming a hit. He posted: "Yoooo why they have to do me like that!?!?!? #DadBodSZN." He also wrote: "Like I got kids."

Patrick Mahomes, who has two young kids with his wife Brittany, is getting ready for the Super Bowl against the 49ers. It's a big game, especially since he led his team to win against them before in Super Bowl LIV. It takes place on Sunday, Feb. 11.
