There will be 65,000 fans inside Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, with the ultimate NFL party expected in Las Vegas.

Food prices inside American stadiums are known for being sky high, but hosting the Super Bowl allows stadiums to push the boundaries even further for the special occasion. This year the big game is being played in the home of the Las Vegas Raiders, and either the Kansas City Chiefs or the San Francisco 49ers will be crowned Super Bowl Champions.

Allegiant Stadium opened its doors for the first time on Monday since being transformed ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl, as Opening Night was hosted with 23,000 fans and the media. The concourses were all decorated in Super Bowl colours, and their updated price list was on display ahead of Sunday.

Currently the average ticket price for Sunday's game is $9,300 (£7,385), with the lowest ticket available for just over $5,000 (£4,200). But fans will have to reach deep into their pockets again if they wish to wine and dine at the stadium.

For fans wanting a beer at the game, prices range from $13.99-$17.99 (£11.10-£14.40) depending on whether it's a domestic or premium option. A wine is $16.99, and if you just want water at the game then it'll still set you back $6.99 (£5.55), as will any bottled soda.

When you think of eating at American stadiums, pizza, hot dogs, and nachos come to mind. At Allegiant Stadium it'll cost you $12.99 (£10.31) for a single slice of pizza and an extra dollar for pepperoni on top. The slices are big though, filling an entire paper plate.

Hot dog prices are much more reasonable though, costing just $2.99 (£2.37). It's also the same price for nachos and cheese sauce or a packet of crisps, with a Bavarian pretzel costing slightly more at $5.99 (£4.75).

Special Super Bowl popcorn buckets are on offer at Allegiant Stadium, and by paying the $14.99 (£11.90) asking price you receive a big souvenir bucket in return. It's essentially a deposit too, as refills on gameday are just $2.99 (£2.37) providing you present the bucket to stadium staff.

There are other specific food areas inside the stadium, with fried chicken or Mexican food being offered at different levels and concourses. It may be an expensive day out, but after spending at least £4,200 on a game ticket, an extra £100 for refreshments isn't going to be hugely noticeable.

Vegas is filled with the glitz and the glamour, with the entire region charging a premium compared to the surrounding area, so the prices won't come as a surprise to locals. For fans not wanting to drink inside the stadium, a huge tailgate is also being hosted outside.
