Mauricio Pochettino's job is not currently at risk - but the Chelsea head coach is under pressure to oversee a swift improvement in results.

Pochettino, 51, has failed to improve the Blues' fortunes since joining the club in the summer and cut a forlorn figure on the touchline on Sunday as Chelsea fell to a chastening 4-2 defeat against Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

That defeat leaves the Londoners languishing in 11th place in the Premier League and fans made their frustrations clear by chanting the names of former manager Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovich, the club's previous owner.

And while the discontent aimed at Pochettino has not gone unnoticed within the Chelsea hierarchy, a new report from The Telegraph has outlined that there is no appetite for the Blues to make another managerial change as things stand.

The report does go on to note that Pochettino's position would be in jeopardy should Chelsea fail to qualify for Europe next season - meaning the Argentine is under pressure to oversee a major upturn in results during the second half of the campaign.

Co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali sacked both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter last season after a run of rotten results with Frank Lampard stepping in on interim basis before Pochettino was identified as the man to move the club forward in the summer.

The duo, along with co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, have also been scrutinised by fans who are unhappy with the club's recruitment strategy.

Speaking after Sunday's heavy defeat against Wolves - who have now leapfrogged the Blues in the table - Pochettino conceded that his team were simply "not matching the history of the club".

"We didn't manage the situation properly. No-one can be safe. I don't want to come here and say I am the best and the players the worst," Pochettino told reporters.

"I think we are all responsible. But the players need to take responsibility also. At the moment we are not matching the history of the club. We need to accept that and to be critical but we cannot give up."

Chelsea face Aston Villa in an FA Cup fourth round replay on Wednesday before travelling to Selhurst Park for a London derby against struggling Crystal Palace next Monday.
