Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin's 'unconventional' relationship with ex Gwyneth
Dakota Johnson is appearing on Graham Norton tonight to talk about her leading role in new Marvel film Madam Web. The actress is one half of a power couple with Coldplay superstar Chris Martin, 46, and she is also close pals with Chris's ex-wife Gwyneth. We take a closer look at the "unconventional" family...
Chris and Oscar winning actress Gwyneth were married for a decade before famously announcing their decision to "consciously uncouple" in 2014. The divorce was finalised two years later and a year after that, in 2017, the musician began dating Dakota.
The couple do their best to keep their relationship private but in October 2021, Chris dedicated his song Universe to his partner at a Coldplay gig, saying: "This is about my universe and she's here". They live together in Malibu, leading a quiet life when they have work downtime, eating in local restaurants and taking Chris's dog Zeppelin for walks.

Chris and Dakota next joined his ex-wife and her new man on vacation in The Hamptons, New York.
In January 2020 actress Gwyneth, 51, opened up about her closeness to her ex-husband, saying: "It's a lifelong commitment to constantly reinvent your relationship with your ex, which you do presumably because you have children together". And she went onto talk about her blossoming friendship with Dakota. "I love her," she said. "I can see how it would seem weird because it's sort of unconventional."

Chris, 46, has been with Dakota since 2017 (GC Images)Three years later, the star still felt the same. "We’re actually very good friends," she said. “I love her so much. She’s an adorable, wonderful person." Gwyneth, who founded popular lifestyle site Goop, went onto share a photo on social media of her and Dakota holding hands on a walk together.
Last week, Dakota, the star of "Shades of Grey", cheekily dubbed Taylor Swift as the "most powerful person in America" during her stint on Saturday Night Live.
She used this opportunity to tease Donald Trump, the former US president and current presidential candidate. While reminiscing about the last time she hosted the show for its 40th Anniversary Special in 2015, Dakota showed a photo of herself surrounded by VIPs like Sarah Palin, George Lucas, and Steven Spielberg. Pointing at Trump, who was also in the audience, she said: "And look who's sitting right behind me."
As the camera zoomed in on Taylor Swift, who was seated in front of her, Dakota quipped: "Crazy to be standing so close to someone who would become the most powerful person in America." This joke had the audience in stitches, with many cheering for Dakota.
