Prince Harry once delivered a brutal 10-word takedown of his disgraced uncle Prince Andrew in his explosive tell-all memoir Spare.

The Duke of Sussex slammed his relative after the Duke of York was embroiled in sex allegations because of his long-standing friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Harry was left fuming after his and wife Meghan Markle's security were stripped of their royal police protection after quitting duties back in 2020.

Prince Andrew was allowed to keep his, despite the family paying an out-of-court settlement for a sexual assault case brought against him. Harry referenced this in Spare, directly mentioning his uncle in the book, calling the ordeal "embarrassing".

Harry wrote: "Despite being involved in an embarrassing scandal, accused of having sexually abused a young woman, nobody had suggested removing his security. People may have a lot of grievances towards us, but sexual offences weren't one of them."

In 2021, Scotland Yard announced it was taking no action after a review prompted by Virginia Giuffre, who had filed a separate US civil lawsuit against the Prince claiming he sexually assaulted her, which he vehemently denied.

The Spare section is unearthed again after it was reported that Harry found it "irritating" that his uncle Andrew was welcomed at royal Christmas celebrations last year, while he and Meghan Markle were not. Before Christmas 2023, there was much speculation that the Sussexes could be eyeing up an invitation to Sandringham for the festive period.

Following a "warm" phone call that Harry had with his father last November for the King's birthday, which was said to be "polite", it was claimed that the couple was keen to return to the UK for a Christmas with the Royal Family. An insider told a national paper at the time: "I can’t imagine the Sussexes would decline an invitation to spend time with His Majesty. As of yet, there have not been any invitations for the holidays."

Meghan and Harry didn't attend royal Christmas celebrations in Sandringham, opting instead to stay in California. But now it has been said that Harry felt "irritated" when he saw his uncle included in the televised broadcast of the Sandringham walkabout.

King Charles' disgraced brother was welcomed on the Royal Family’s traditional walk to Sandringham’s St Mary Magdalene church on Christmas morning. Andrew was accompanied by his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. According to In Touch, "people are seeing it as another slap in the face to the Sussexes, and Harry would have to agree" because "they were the only family members who weren’t there [at the Christmas walkabout]."

A source continued to the outlet: "Harry finds it irritating that Andrew and Fergie joined the family at church," adding that Andrew because of his ties with Jeffrey Epstein, and Fergie "because she’s not even part of the royal family and hasn’t been for some time".
