Apple's boss, Tim Cook, has hinted at a big reveal about generative AI features on its devices "later this year".

He said the tech giant is investing a lot of time and effort into AI. While rivals like Samsung and Google have already made announcements about generative AI, Apple has been quiet on the subject.

However, Mr Cook believes that generative AI presents a "huge opportunity" for the company. He confirmed that more details will be shared later in the year but didn't give any further information.

Apple's next iPhone software update, iOS 18, could be one of the biggest in its history, with reports suggesting it may include new generative AI features. This follows Samsung's recent release of their latest smartphones, packed with AI-powered tools like translation and transcription services, as well as new photo editing capabilities.

Google's Pixel phones have also been promoting similar AI tools. Meanwhile, Apple's latest financial results show a 2% revenue increase to £93.74 billion compared to the same period last year.
