Members of the Royal Family spend a lot of time attending high-profile events closely watched by fans and attending well-wishers, but they still have moments of candid conversation during such occasions.

The bright spotlight upon their public duties means that even these quick moments are often caught by eagled-eyed experts who manage to decipher what they have been chatting about.

One of these moments, between Kate and William, took place at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the late Queen Elizabeth back in 2022. An expert lip reader was able to make out what he believed to be a clear instruction that William gave his wife while they were leaving the engagement.

The couple were leaving St. Paul's Cathedral when the sweet moment was spotted, where they had been attending a Service of Thanksgiving to mark the historic longevity of the late Queen's reign.

According to lip reader John Cassidy, the royal couple were about to leave for a reception at the Guildhall they started chatting about the service. He claims that Kate said first to her husband, "It went very well, very well." William immediately agreed, replying: "Yes, perfect."

As they waited to get in their car to head off to the next part of the celebrations, Cassidy stated that William then instructed Kate, "Wait for that to move, then we can go."

The Platinum Jubilee was a momentous royal occasion, not only because it marked an impressive 70 years of the late Queen's reign - who was Britain's longest reigning monarch.

It also marked the first time that the senior royals had been publicly reunited with Meghan and Harry since their explosive exit from the UK and life as working royals.

The Platinum Jubilee wasn't the only time that William has been spotted giving his wife Kate instructions about when to leave an event. Back in summer 2023, he and Kate attended the Jordanian royal wedding, and after they had watched Crown Prince Al Hussein of Jordan and Princess Rajwa tie the knot, he was caught on camera telling her to "chop chop" and doing a hand signal that indicated he wanted her to wind up her conversation with the newlyweds.
