Alec Baldwin downcast before pleading not guilty to new Rust charges
Alec Baldwin appeared downcast as he was spotted grabbing coffee before pleading not guilty to the charge of involuntary manslaughter following the death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust.
The famous producer appeared stoic as he was seen leaving his apartment alongside his wife Hiaria Baldwin as the pair went to pick up a cup of Joe in Brooklyn, New York just three hours before his court case. In the snaps, the 65-year-old appeared low-spirited as he stepped out in an all-black slouchy outfit wearing a fur-lined black corduroy jacket paired with loose-fitting grey pants.
Alec's outing comes as he pleaded not guilty after a cinematographer Halyna died after a shooting incident on the set of the movie Rust in 2021. A grand jury indicted the actor on involuntary manslaughter in January, a fourth-degree felony that could carry a sentence up to 18 months in prison if convicted. On Wednesday, Alec chose to waive his right to appear in court after he was charged for the second time in involvement in the case.

Man in 30s dies after being stabbed in park sparking police probeIn a previously unreleased video, Alec was seen firing a prop gun filled with blanks on set. In the video, the former Beetlejuice star said: "I don't want to shoot towards you". The video and others were recorded just days before Baldwin’s prop gun fired a live round of ammunition.
The actor was allegedly practicing a cross-draw on the Santa Fe set in October 2021 when the gun fired fatally striking Hutchins. Director Joel Souza was also struck from the round and suffered a non-life-threatening injury. Alec's first charge was originally dropped after questions of the Colt .45 functionality after he claimed that he had never pulled the trigger. During the FBI investigation, the gun was found broken which brought the investigation to a further standstill after Alec's claim.
The gun was later reconstructed with experts Lucien and Michael Haag determining that the gun's trigger would have to be pulled in order for it to go off. The report stated: "This fatal incident was the consequence of the hammer being manually retracted to its fully rearward and cocked position followed, at some point, by the pull or rearward depression of the trigger," and continued: "Although Alec Baldwin repeatedly denies pulling the trigger, given the tests, findings and observations reported here, the trigger had to be pulled or depressed sufficiently to release the fully cocked or retracted hammer of the evidence revolver."
After Alec's first charge his attorney's, Lukas Nikas and Alex Spiro, spoke to The Mirror about the case and said: "We look forward to our day in court."
