Jeremy Vine politician Rebecca Jane has opened up about her fears that she may be facing a battle with cancer after losing almost two stone in two weeks.

She shared her fears in a lengthy social media post where she explained that she was rushed to hospital twice in recent days amid her health concerns. The 39-year-old politician revealed that doctors were concerned that Rebecca may have bowel cancer due to her rapid and unexplainable weight loss.

The Jeremy Vine star announced she was stepping down from her role as Deputy Leader of UKIP last month January, and it was around this time that Rebecca's health battle worsened. Describing her symptoms, Rebecca revealed that she has felt "horrendous" for weeks on end.

In a lengthy post on X, formerly known as Twitter, she penned: "The last 3 weeks have been horrendous. I’m now classed as a ‘suspected bowel cancer’ case. I’ve lost 1 stone & 3lbs in 2.5 weeks. I can’t eat. I’ve had 2 blue light trips to hospital & morphine doesn’t cure the pain."

Although her doctors have suspected that bowel cancer could be the source of her health issues, Rebecca has remained positive, telling her followers that she has a feeling that cancer is not the problem at hand. "Do I think I have ‘bowel cancer?!’ Absolutely not… but something is very wrong," she shared. "I do read all your messages - thank you! But I’m exhausted. Ideas and suggestions have been super helpful."

In the post, Rebecca went on to explain that she felt deeply "let down" by the NHS staff in the A&E department. The politician slammed the staff as "incompetent" after they made her feel a certain way after being told by doctors to go straight to A&E.

Rebecca said: "A&E have been THE WORST… but my GP & other consultants have been the best. I speak a lot of NHS incompetence, it’s only fair I speak when they get it right too. A consultant referred me under the 2 week rule at 11am today.

"By 7pm, the hospital called, booking me in for the investigation she required. That’s incredible. It’s day 20 of the ‘s**t show of my stomach’, and 3 weeks tomorrow since I was first taken to hospital. I’ll get to the bottom of this, and hopefully it will help SO many of you who have similar issues," she added.

Rebecca first rose to fame in 2015. She started off by appearing on ITV shows including This Morning and Loose Women.
