'I tried the 'world's best pasta sauce' - my dinners have changed forever'

Mixing up mid-week meals can be tough because when you come home from work, the last thing you want to do is stand over a hot stove for hours - but this pasta dish could change it all.

The 'world's best pasta sauce' has just three ingredients, but it promises to be packed full of flavour, despite its simplicity. It seems like a win-win, so Mirror writer Grace Hoffman had to give it a go herself.

A self-confessed "lazy" chef, she finds convenience one of the most important things when cooking up a storm in the kitchen - but did this sauce pass the test for her? Read her thoughts below.

Given I consume so much pasta that it's pretty much become a part of my personality and that the sauce recipe screams simplicity, it was only right that I dusted off my apron in the kitchen. American food writer Marcella Hazan - who died in 1992 - argued that a good pasta sauce is remarkably simple and economical. Her 1992 recipe is revered by food writers and cooks alike - with food publication Delish even dubbing her three-ingredient sauce as 'the best in the world'.
