Distressed mum claims 'ghost' saved her baby's life by alerting her to danger
A woman has told how her grandmother’s ‘supernatural encounter’ in the 60s led to her saving the life of her auntie when she was just a baby. After revealing her grandma had lived in a haunted apartment for a short while when her father was young and her aunty had just been born, she told how she had noticed a lot of 'weird things' occurring in the house, but never felt 'threatened or scared'.
However, one night, while everyone was asleep, and her husband (the girl’s grandfather) was out, her grandma said she heard her name being called, with the calling becoming louder and louder: “The second time, the voice also said: “Check the baby,” the woman said. Her grandma admitted that this prompted her to run and check on the baby, only to find her newborn had managed to wrap the blanket around her neck and was starting to choke.

“This was back in the late 60s before anyone knew that blankets were causing infant deaths,” she said. “They saved my aunt’s life that night – whoever ‘they’ are. Telling her spooky story on Reddit prompted many readers to recall their own supernatural encounters, while many were shocked at her own tale: “Wow. She had a guardian angel. Very cool,” said one, while another commented: “That was the hand of God.”
Another suggested that ‘they’ could have been ancestors: “Ancestors come with many blessings and guidance. They help us in navigating life. You can call them for help. It’s good to thank them and acknowledge them,” said one reader, while another recalled how many unexplained things had also happened to her: “Some were very paranormal and some more subtle. I’m a believer and believe we all do, and can, get help from higher powers. We need more benevolent ghost stories.”
