Tom Brady is set to replace Greg Olsen at FOX - and he's full of praise for his predecessor.

Brady, who announced his retirement from the NFL in February 2023 after a whopping 23 seasons, has had an incredible career with seven Super Bowl wins under his belt. He spent two decades with the New England Patriots, where he won six of his championships, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The five-time Super Bowl MVP and three-time NFL MVP decided to quit playing to spend more time with his family following his public split from partner Gisele Bundchen.

Brady, now 46, also turned his attention to other interests, buying minority stakes in the Las Vegas Raiders, the WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces, and English football club Birmingham City. He's also gearing up to become the lead analyst at FOX Sports, having signed a 10-year deal worth $375million.

Brady told the broadcaster he'll start in the booth in the 2024 season, giving himself a year to adjust to retirement. He recently appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, where he shared his excitement about his new role and spoke highly of Olsen, who he'll be replacing.

“I’ve been at the FOX studios a few times and done some really dry runs with Kevin [Burkhardt], who is tremendous at what he does,” Brady said. “I’m super excited to join an amazing team. Rich Russo and Richie Zyontz… we talk a lot about football and talked a lot about how I see the game and I think Greg’s done an incredible job. I have so much respect for him and how he approaches his job. He’s super prepared at what he does. I think he does an incredible job every time he’s on. I love listening to him.

"I'm just going to go in there and do the best I can do with my own perspective. I certainly have had a unique vision and perspective of the game for 23 years, and I hope I can provide some insight for all the viewers and all the fans who love this sport."

“I’m just going to go in there and do the best I can do with my own perspective. I certainly have had a unique vision and perspective of the game for 23 years, and I hope I can provide some insight for all the viewers and all the fans who love this sport.”

Brady expanded on his ‘unique’ perspective, adding: “I’ve been a part of a lot of Super Bowls, Championship games, had some seasons that didn’t go the way we wanted, I’ve had some injuries, I’ve seen undrafted rookies, I’ve seen guys come in with great expectations and not meet it.

“I’ve seen underdogs like Julian Edelman come along and make it so I’ve had 23 years of just observing, and now I get to go on and speak to a wider audience. I used to use my body and brain out there and people would see me lead the team down the field and now I get to do that in a different way using my voice.”

The San Francisco 49ers' thrilling victory over the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship marked Olsen's final stint as the lead NFL game analyst at FOX. With CBS set to host Super Bowl LVIII, he will be moved to the second booth once Brady joins for the start of the 2024 NFL season.
