Adele is facing a backlash from some fans after announcing some brand new tour dates.

The Grammy Award winning singer, 35, took to social media this morning to let fans know she will be performing in Germany for four nights in August once her Las Vegas residency comes to an end in June.

Writing on Instagram, Adele said of her upcoming gigs in Open Air Arena, Messe München: "I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer. Guten Tag babes x."

Fans quickly rejoiced in the comment section, delighted to learn that the mum-of-one will be playing in Europe for the first time since 2016. However, not all of Adele's supporters were happy to hear the supposed "guten" news this morning.

"Thought we were finally going to get those first chance at tickets for when you cancelled the last 2 London shows in 2017," one disappointed fan fumed underneath Adele's announcement post on Instagram, with another replying to the original poster: "For real though! We didn't fly as far thank god (NL). But I was devastated. Seeing Adele was supposed to be my graduation gift."

"When are you going to do the shows you promised in London I had tickets for those x," another fan enquired, as one Instagram user joked: "This is Karma after she made us fly to London 7 years ago only to cancel that final 2 Wembley shows and never stepping foot on Europe again!"

Adele devastated fans in July 2017, when she cancelled the final two shows of her world tour, due to take place at London's Wembley Stadium, after damaging her vocal cords. Breaking the news to fans on Twitter at the time, the singer explained: "I had to push a lot harder than I normally do... it turns out I have damaged my vocal cords.

"On medical advice, I am simply unable to perform over the weekend. I've considered doing Saturday night's show, but it's highly unlikely I'd even make it through the set and I simply can't crumble in front of you all and walk out on you in that way." She continued to admit that she'd even considered miming on stage, "but I've never done it and I cannot in a million years do that to you. It wouldn't be the real me up there."

An email was then sent to ticket-holders that informed them the concerts wouldn't be going ahead and that a refund would be sent to them. The message also told: "The event organisers are exploring the options to reschedule and you will be given first access to purchase tickets in the event of any rescheduled dates."

Adele will take to the stage at Open Air Arena, Messe München for four dates across two weeks in August - Friday 2nd August 2024, Saturday 3rd August 2024, Friday 9th August 2024, Saturday 10th August 2024. Artist presale starts at 10am on Wednesday 7th February, with the general sale commencing two days later.

The Hello singer's full message to fans this morning, announcing the dates, reads: "So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows. I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans. However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea – a one off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on? Ohh!? Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? That’s a bit random, but still fabulous! Right after the Euros? Come on England! With the Olympics next door? Go on Simone!

And some of my favourite artists playing shows too? Why…YES!! I haven’t played in Europe since 2016! I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer. Guten Tag babes x."
