Teenager Alicia Anderson has been missing for over 10 days and her family has been increasingly concerned as they have not received any news from her.

The 16-year-old was last seen leaving her home on Westover Hills Drive in Cary, North Carolina, on Friday, January 19 and has not been heard from since. Cary Police Department said Alicia is 5 feet 3 inches tall and of Asian descent.

When she vanished, she was wearing red and black plaid pyjama trousers with a black hoodie and carrying a pink backpack. Her last sighting was when she was captured by a Ring doorbell as she left her family home.

Officers said Alicia is known to often share a rosary and shared photos of similar beads she might have been wearing when she disappeared. Anyone who has seen her or has information about her has been asked to get in touch with the police.

The teen's family and friends have spoken out after she went missing and shared some concerns they have. Here, we look at the main claims and revelations made since Alicia disappeared.

Alicia talking with 'older guys' on Facebook

Alicia's parents have said they believe she was "talking to men on Facebook" before her unexplained disappearance. Michael Sullivan, 45, and Ashley Anderson-Sullivan, 40, have shared their "gut-wrenching" pain as they pray for her return every day.

Her parents revealed that Alicia's friends told police that she had been speaking to older men on Facebook in the weeks before she disappeared. "They said that she had been talking to older guys on Facebook," Ashley revealed.

"I didn't think that she's been talking to anybody besides her friends at school, because all she had was a school tablet", she added. "She had two steady boyfriends and she would talk about them with me. She's literally not mentioned a guy in a long while now. So I didn't even think there were any guys."

Everything was 'normal' before disappearance

Speaking to the US Sun, parents Michael and Ashley explained that everything seemed normal before she went missing. "She laid on my bed and was talking about how stressful her exams were. She wanted to know if she could stay the night at [her friend's house]. I said yes. Everything was absolutely normal," Ashley said.

The youngest of three children - with siblings Alexis, 24 and Damien, 21 - Alicia has left her family devastated with her mysterious disappearance. "It's just gut-wrenching. Hard to eat, hard to sleep, hard to work. Your mind just goes in really bad places," Ashley said. Michael added that it's "every parent's worst fear".

"You hear about this kind of stuff all the time and you don't think it's gonna happen. Nothing can describe the kind of pain that this has caused us,' Michael added.

Old phone parents didn't know about

Alicia didn't have a phone since November so her parents didn't think she had been contacting anyone outside of school - until her friends revealed the truth to police after her disappearance. She had previously had boyfriends but had never told her parents about men on Facebook.

Parents send message to 'captors'

Mum Ashley fears someone has her, as she told The Sun: "If someone has her, please bring her home." "It's a lot on everybody and not knowing what's going on - has she been taken? Is she being held against her will? Is she a runaway?" Michael said. "That's the worst part, not knowing what level this is at.

"If she hears this, we just want you to come home. You're not in any trouble. We're not mad. We just want you safe," her emotional dad added.
