Stephanie Beacham talks eternal youth and wows with age-defying appearance

Stephanie Beacham wowed Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley with her age-defying appearance on Tuesday's show.

The legendary actress, 76, was on the ITV talk show to speak about her two new movies, Forever Young and Grey Matter. Introducing Stephanie on the show, Richard, 67, said: "Imagine having the secret to eternal youth, real eternal youth, well that's what Stephanie Beacham's looking for in her new film, it's called Forever Young."

To which co-host, Susanna, 53, pointed out to Stephanie: "The secret to eternal youth, I would say, you already have it!" Talking about the film Forever Young, where an aging woman is given the chance to be young again, Stephanie said of people using plastic surgery: "It is the sort of thing that every woman does have a little look at.

"I know that what I've decided, I will just try and keep myself as good and healthy as I can but what is the point when your hands look wretchedly old. Unless you're wearing gloves the whole time!"

Susanna then asked: "So how do you manage to look so fabulous, is it just a general sort of sense of keep fit and well, and eat well!" to which Richard added: "And good genes!"

Stephanie replied: "Obviously, eat well and yes [good genes] my mother was glamorous until she was 85! It was a whole lifestyle, I never saw her in slippers!" to which Susanna quipped: "Ah, is that the secret!"

The actress continued: "She always wore her little high heel shoes and the only time she ever twisted her ankle in the village street was when she tried to wear sensible shoes!"

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were also left wowed by Stephanie's age-defying appearance. One person said: "Stephanie Beacham, 60 years in acting. Bless her. Looking absolutely beautiful, Xx #GMB while another added: "Stephanie Beacham looking very good. Whats her secret ? #gmb."

Elsewhere in the interview, Stephanie opened up about a terrifying raid on her home which left her fearing for her life. Recalling her terrifying experience, Stephanie shared how she faced a frightful incident at home in 2022, where she thought: "I'm going to die."

The intruder was later identified as 56-year-old David Wilson, who had sixty-four previous convictions. He was charged with aggravated burglary and robbery and was sentenced to ten years and five months in prison.

Before joining Coronation Street, Stephanie gained global fame as Sable Colby in the US drama Dynasty, where she starred alongside Hollywood greats like Joan Collins and John Forsythe.
