Take That legend 'lands huge ITV travel show' as he jets around Europe

Take That singer Gary Barlow has reportedly landed a brand-new travel show on ITV.

The musician, 53, will travel around Europe with some of his famous friends as the TV show features his love and expertise in music and travel. According to reports, Gary will start filming for the new travel programme this March before he heads on his band's This Life tour the next month.

"Gary is fronting a new travelogue on ITV which will air later this autumn," the source recently revealed about the upcoming programme. "He is very well-travelled but loves to explore new places so when he was approached with the idea he jumped at the chance.

"Gary will head around Europe, along with some of his famous pals, and take viewers along with him for the ride. He is a natural on camera and ITV think the show will be a hit with their audiences."

The insider added to The Sun that Gary wants to 'bring something really new and exciting to the table.' Culture, food and music will be a huge part of the show. The Mirror have contacted ITV for comment.

Last year, Gary opened up about the importance of artist identity in an interview with Sky Italia. The Take That singer achieved 28 Top 40 songs in the UK Singles Chart, including 12 Number Ones throughout his illustrious career. He also released music as a solo artist.

He explained how making your own music is an incredibly important part of forming your own voice as an artist. "Identity is everything for an artist and I feel like when you’re a songwriter you give everything its identity because you are coming up with the music," he explained.

"It must be hard if you’re not coming up with the music to find an identity. I think that is really challenging, but we are lucky because we write our own songs. So we create what is in here [our hearts] not waiting for someone to do it for us, we do it ourselves.” Gary's bandmate Mark Owen agreed with the comment and said the reason their band was so successful and had many hits was due to them making their own music.

“We are blessed. I think that is because we make the songs. It’s maybe [because] we like our own songs, we are fans of the songs that we make, so that works well,” Mark explained.
