Prince William's way of looking after Kate Middleton now she's out of hospital
Prince William has an adorable way of looking after Kate now she’s out of hospital.
Yesterday morning, the Princess of Wales was discharged from the London Clinic after spending almost two weeks recovering from abdominal surgery. The senior royal shocked fans after Kensington Palace announced on January 17 that she had been admitted to hospital and underwent a successful surgery.
This left her out of public royal duties until at least Easter as she recovers. But with the first bit of her recovery done, she was whisked away to the family’s plush home, Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.
There she will be able to be closer to her three children and William - who had paused his public engagements whilst she was in hospital. But whilst at home, one former royal butler reckons the Prince, like most people, will do all he can to help his wife.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold described how Kate’s absence would have left a "void" in the family’s home, and that the kids would have been really excited to get her back.
Baby boy has spent his life in hospital as doctors are 'scared' to discharge himBut he said William will also wait on Kate "hand and foot". Speaking to the New York Post, he added: "He’s a very caring, very loving kind of character and I noticed that a lot when I spent time with them both back in the day. I’ve no doubt that wouldn’t have changed, William will make sure Kate is cared for and that she has a quick recovery.
"The sooner her recovery, I’m sure the sooner the pair will get back to carrying out their royal duties together, which is something that I think they enjoy. I think they’ll be keen to get back to normal with it. There won’t be a huge team there on hand. It’ll be her husband who’ll mainly be doing that, helping her to get back onto her feet."
A statement from Kensington Palace yesterday said: "The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress. The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided. The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well wishes they have received from around the world."
Royal sources say Kate's return to official duties "will depend on medical advice closer to the time". Kensington Palace previously stated the future Queen has cancelled all engagements until after Easter. Prince William had also cancelled engagements and public appearances to look after the couple's three children while his wife was in hospital. Sources said the Prince of Wales would return to work "once the Princess of Wales' care and recovery is settled".
News of Kate’s medical problems came ahead of a string of shocking revelations from the royal family. Just hours after Kensington Palace announced she had undergone surgery, Buckingham Palace said that King Charles would undergo a corrective procedure for his enlarged prostate.
Then, following that, it was revealed that Sarah Ferguson had revealed a malignant melanoma diagnosis. What made the news even tougher was that it came just six months after her breast cancer battle. Prince Andrew’s ex-wife had to undergo an eight-hour operation last July to remove one of her breasts after doctors discovered the disease in a routine mammogram which she nearly missed.
