Sarah Ferguson won't remarry Prince Andrew for one reason, royal expert claims
There is one reason that Sarah Ferguson will not remarry Prince Andrew, according to a royal expert.
The pair - who were married for 10 years between 1986 and 1996 - won't revisit their royal romance because it would risk complicating their current relationship, claims Royal author Victoria Arbiter - and dismissed long-standing rumours that the Duke and Duchess of York may one day tie the knot again.
On February 19, 1986, which is Andrew's birthday, the prince proposed to Fergie at Floors Castle in the Scottish Borders. They got hitched weeks later in a lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey on July 23 the same year. It was on their wedding day that the late Queen Elizabeth II bestowed the titles of Duke and Duchess of York on the newlyweds.
It didn't take long before their relationship started to unravel as Fergie was forced to stay home raising young Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie while the prince was out on naval deployments. Legally, they separated in 1992. In August of that year, scandalous photos emerged of the Duchess having her toes sucked by US businessman John Bryan.
Speaking to GB News, Ms Arbiter said: "There’s long been speculation regarding whether or not Andrew and Fergie will remarry. But their current situation seems to suit them both well so why complicate things?"

The couple's relationship legally ended in 1996. In the years that followed, the Duchess has inched back in, appearing beside the royals during their annual Christmas Day walk at Sandringham.
Their current relationship is slightly odd as they still share a home - Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park - but they maintain they are content as divorcees. Ms Arbiter pointed to the comment as she argued the Yorks are unlikely to remarry. She said: "Fergie’s previously said they’re the happiest divorced couple she knows so there’s little to be gained by remarrying. They’ve always shown immense loyalty towards each other and clearly their relationship works exactly as it is."

Last week, Sarah Ferguson visited her dermatologist at the King William VII hospital in Marylebone, as she continues to recuperate from malignant melanoma.
The smiling Duchess of York said “I’m fine, thank you”, when asked by fans how she was doing outside the hospital following her appointment. Wearing a navy blue blazer, matching skirt, black tights and loafers, Fergie stopped to chat with locals before being driven off by a driver.
Fergie broke the news of her shock diagnosis last week, just six months after her breast cancer battle. Prince Andrew’s ex-wife had to undergo an eight-hour operation last July to remove one of her breasts after doctors discovered the disease in a routine mammogram which she nearly missed.
