Princess Lilibet will wear a crown, but it won’t be anytime soon due to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s estrangement from the Royal Family, a royal expert has claimed.

Lilibet, who was named in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth, was born in June 2021 in California, and has grown up in the US after her parents stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, causing huge controversy. Since then, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are also parents to son Prince Archie, 4, have made a series of allegations regarding their life in the monarchy, which has only fuelled tensions between Harry and his extended family.

Harry and Meghan’s daughter was given her name in tribute to her late great-grandmother, who was sweetly nicknamed Lilibet as a youngster. However, drama recently unfolded after it was claimed the Queen was furious by her grandson’s statement that she had given the couple her permission to name their daughter Lilibet.

Due to the ongoing estrangement between Harry, Meghan and other senior royals including Prince William and King Charles, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Express.co.uk the only time Lilibet would be wearing a crown is “on the playground”, despite being seventh in line to the throne. “Harry and Meghan are in their own little bubble in California... and might grow older with children that resent the isolation they've created between them and their extended families,” she explained, adding Lilibet “is not a princess in the United States because we don't have those.”

Luckily, the two-year-old won’t be aware of the “sensational stories” regarding her name and her extended family, but Kinsey warned Harry and Meghan that their allegations about the royals will be easy to find online when Lilibet is older. “By then, I imagine that she will have it indoctrinated in her that the press is bad and full of misinformation… according to her parents,” she fired.

The royal expert blamed Meghan for fuelling the deepening rift between Harry and his family, as she claimed the Duchess of Sussex has “shown no interest in investing in the history of Harry’s family”, and Lilibet and Archie will grow up “detached from the Royal Family”. Kinsey said Harry and Meghan’s daughter will have “little or no connection” to her father’s heritage, due to her being born in the US, and “will not understand the importance of her great-grandmother.”
