Wingstop to open 15 new UK restaurants and create 750 jobs in 2024
Chicken restaurant chain, Wingstop, is planning an expansion with 15 new outlets set to open in the coming year.
This move could provide up to 750 new jobs within the company. Wingstop, originally from the US, has had a successful run in the UK since its launch in 2018 and this year is set to be their largest expansion yet.
Announcing their growth plans, Lemon Pepper Holdings, who run the franchise in the UK, revealed nine locations for the new eateries. Brand-new Wingstop restaurants will open in Hounslow, Clapham High Street, Watford, Croydon Valley Retail Park, Wood Green, Lakeside Shopping Centre, Westfield Stratford City, Merry Hill Dudley, and a second site in Leeds.
They are also in talks about opening six more locations, all set to open their doors in 2024. The plan includes different types of locations such as high street shops, retail parks and shopping centres.
Currently operating 39 UK sites and employing 1,600 people, Wingstop offers a menu of wings, tenders, burgers, and sides, all made to order. Co-founder of Lemon Pepper Holdings, Tom Grogan said: "2024 is going to be our biggest ever year of growth." He followed with pride at the prospect of opening outlets nationwide and the potential creation of up to 750 new jobs.

It's a time of big growth for US food brands in the UK, with lots of new shops opening up. The fried chicken shop Popeyes also said this week it wants to open over 30 new places this year, which means about 2,000 people will get jobs.
