Lineker picks out Osimhen’s ideal transfer amid Arsenal and Man Utd interest
Gary Lineker believes Arsenal would be a perfect match for Victor Osimhen as he continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League.
The Nigerian hitman has been in stunning form for Napoli over the past few seasons. He fired the Italian side to the Serie A title last term, while he also has eight goals in 18 appearances in all competitions this season.
Osimhen’s form has attracted the interest of a number of clubs including Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. Lineker has weighed in on the current situation and believes a move to North London would give the striker everything he is looking for.
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, the Match of the Day host said: “I think I’d look at it and I’d go, at the moment, Arsenal. Obviously, we’re talking about everyone offering the same thing, that’s what you want, blah blah blah in your contract.
“I mean, to be honest, they earn so much now that you can just choose where you want to go. I would say, Arsenal are probably a centre-forward away from winning things.

“Chelsea are a centre-forward away from becoming competitive again. Manchester United are a centre-forward away from improving, but they’ve still got a long way to go. If I were him, you want to go somewhere where you think you’re going to win things.”
While Osimhen has been urged to consider a move to the Emirates Stadium, it appears that a decision has already been made on his future. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that his star man is set to leave the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

“We knew that since last summer,” he said. “That’s why the contract negotiations were so drawn out and amicable… but we knew perfectly well that he would go Real Madrid, to PSG or to a English team.”
Meanwhile, Osimhen has already spoken out on his future and claims to know where he will be playing his football. He said: "I already had my plan, I already know the next step I want to take. For now I want to finish the season strong, relax with my daughter, think about my life and then come out with the decision I have already made."
Away from his move, Osimhen is currently in the midst of his AFCON commitments with Nigeria. He scored during the Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea during the first group game and has failed to find the net since.
Ex-Leicester, Fulham and Everton star Ademola Lookman netted twice on Saturday as Nigeria beat Cameroon to reach the quarter-finals.
