Cincinnati Bengals' quarterback Joe Burrow has expressed his delight at the appointment of Dan Pitcher as the new offensive coordinator. Pitcher, who has been working with Burrow since he joined the NFL in 2020, was promoted after Brian Callahan left to coach the Tennessee Titans.

Pitcher, originally hired by Marvin Lewis as a scout, remained on the team when Zac Taylor took over in Cincinnati. After Jake Browning's success in Burrow's absence, Pitcher was seen as the natural successor to Callahan.

Known for his role in Burrow's development, Pitcher's third-down installs and overall offensive structure earned him the promotion. Despite having interviews lined up with other teams, he chose to stay with the Bengals.

This is good news for Burrow, who will return to a familiar setup once he recovers from a wrist injury that cut short his 2023 season.

After Pitcher got his new job, Burrow shared: "Our relationship is as good as it gets. I wouldn't be the player I am today without him. He's been preparing for this for years. He takes his job very seriously and does it with a lot of passion."

Pitcher has worked in the NFL for 12 seasons and has spent eight with the Bengals. With Burrow as his quarterback, he's helped him become the best in the NFL for completing passes. They've won lots of games and even got to the Super Bowl.

Pitcher is also happy working with Burrow and the Bengals. He said: "This is the ideal scenario. I've had the luxury of growing up here."

He added: "This is where I learned how to be a coach and doing it under some really good people. It's not often you get the chance to take all those steps in your career in one place."

"And to be working for really good people who want to see you succeed, and in turn you try to provide value for them in a role like this. I think it's pretty special. This is what I was hoping for all along."
