The fifth man who attended a Kansas City Chiefs watch party after which three friends tragically froze to death has been named for the first time.

Alex Weamer-Lee, a high-school friend of victims David Harrington, Ricky Johnson, and Clayton McGeeney, was watching a football game with them at Jordan Willis' home in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 7. He said he left at midnight and everyone was alive.

However, as the three men and also host Willis did not reply to their concerned families after they failed to return home, Mr McGeeney's fiancee went to the home to look for him. When she arrived, she found a body on the back porch and police later discovered two more bodies in the garden.

Weamer-Lee is reportedly a 37-year-old flooring contractor and lives in a rental home in another part of the city. The Daily Mail reports reporters were told he was not there and would not answer any media inquiries, when they went to his home to question him.

His lawyer said Lee received a message from McGeeney’s fiancée and from Johnson's mother, both asking about their loved ones. He said he texted both Willis and Johnson but did not receive replies, according to the New York Post.

Lee's version appears to contradict statements previously made by Willis' attorney who said the host saw all four of his friends out at around 2am and then went to sleep. The police have not arrested Willis and said it is "100%" not currently being treated as a homicide, with the autopsy results on the three bodies still pending.

The heartbroken families are furious at the progress of the case so far, stating that they believe there are major inconsistencies in the story. "Nobody believes this story. None of his friends, none of the families, none of us believe it... Everybody is furious," said Jennifer Marquez, Harrington's mother.

Johnson's mother, Norma, spoke to NewsNation saying: "It's very hard holding up. Something is not right." She added that the police are "not doing anything" to find out exactly what happened and stated that Willis must be "at least investigated" - before suggesting that the trio were "poisoned".

So far, no evidence has been presented to support the theory of foul play, which was ruled out when police attended the scene. Willis isn't a suspect nor has he been charged, and Captain Jake Becchina of the Kansas City Police Department said: "There are no specific threats or concerns for the surrounding community at this time. The resident at the house was cooperative with detectives the day the deceased were discovered."

Kaylee La Tier, a pal of the men, shared on Facebook that Willis knew the men were missing and questioned his actions. She said: "(He) was inside his home alive while my friends were dead in his yard for lord knows how long. They were all hanging out after the game Sunday. He KNEW people were looking for them."

She added: "He read messages of people searching for him on Tuesday. My husband banged on his door for 20 min. My friend banged on his door and then busted a window and yelled and announced her presence while she's inside and still nothing from him?? Then the cops come 10 min later and he comes out nonchalant in his boxers with an empty wine glass in hand??!"

The brother of Johnson, Jonathan Price, has expressed suspicion about Willis' animals needing to go outside and the lack of snow indicating any prolonged time inside. "There's many different things that don't add up, we just don't understand how somebody would at least be investigated in any way," he commented.
