More often than not, the penultimate episode of a reality show is fairly dull. With hardly any contestants left, and everyone treading water until they find out who wins, this instalment is usually all filler no killer. But The Traitors isn’t your usual reality show.

Zak didn’t turn up for breakfast - aka was RIP – perfectly setting his arch nemesis Jasmine up as the one who must have offed him, ie a Traitor. Or, the players could have reasoned that if Jasmine was a Traitor she WOULDN’T have killed Zak because it would have been too obvious, but Harry decided they would then talk themselves into believing that was a double bluff. Yet again, he was one step ahead, and all his pieces continued to fall into place.

After the mission, Claudia (YETI JACKET!!!) announced that there would be no murder that night, and that whoever now pulled a sword out of a stone would have a difficult decision to make. Obviously the winner was Harry – “Wonderboy” as Evie called him – who got the chance to steal seven grand from the prize pot and continue on with the game with no consequences.

It gifted him the perfect opportunity to prove what a dedicated, honest team player he was – “If I don’t take it it’s more money for us Faithfuls at the end.” The gods are smiling on him so regularly they must be Traitors too (and should watch their backs, because he may well turn on them next.)

At the round table Jasmine and Evie accused each other, the Traitors watched two Faithfuls going at each other with no expressions on their face, but presumably joy in their (black) hearts. Jaz, who had earlier openly said that he doesn’t trust Harry, sat there with his mouth full of teeth. Jasmine was banished, just as Harry had decreed the night before. Every one of his boxes continued to be ticked.

Then, a surprise dinner party – and the twist no-one saw coming. Just when it seemed that nothing could possibly stand in Harry’s way, a spanner in the works. That spanner’s name? Harry. As the five finalists sat around the table, having become so close over the last few intense weeks they’ve spent together, they started to tell their stories.

Mollie, who has overcome so much in her life, talked about her inspiring, worthy plans for the money if she wins it, and we saw the penny drop for Harry. Or the 70 grand, to be more precise, that he would have to steal from her, ensuring her dreams remain just that. Yup, a very late entrant to the castle: Harry’s conscience. Eeek.

“It’s getting hard now,” he confessed, “I am human, by the way. I do feel guilty.” By the end of the evening, his resolve seemed weaker than ever before. “I love everyone, we’ve made genuine connections, we’re super close. I know what needs to be done… but I don’t want to do it.”

He’s been unstoppable throughout, getting rid of anyone – Faithful or Traitor – who gets in his way. But could Harry end up being the cause of his own undoing? The wait to find out, as always, will be unbearable. HURRY UP, FRIDAY NIGHT!
