Hugh and Crystal Hefner's marriage - from 'robotic' sex to no French manicures
Hugh Hefner's wife Crystal shared candid details of her marriage to the Playboy founder, sensationally revealing the octogenarian was bad in bed.
The model was 24 when she tied the knot with Hugh, who was 60 years her senior, back in 2012. But Crystal, now 37, has no fond memories of her relationship with the millionaire. In her memoir Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself, Crystal said the couple barely had sex during their union, despite Hugh's lothario public persona, and described the sex as "odd and robotic".
The first time they consummated their relationship was at a Halloween party at the Playboy Mansion, but Crystal confessed their night together felt like "I was auditioning for a part". She continued: "There was nothing sexy about it. It was about power and control and leverage. It was a performance."

She also revealed Hugh "had never taken a moment in his entire life to figure out how to please someone else", and that sex with her husband was "like Hef was just going through the motions of something that had once been fun and sexy". Much to her relief, Hugh began sending her out to recruit girls to take part in orgies at the Playboy Mansion, and she admitted she felt torn over carrying out his vulgar request.
She explained that after twins Kristina and Karissa Shannon had ended their relationship with Hugh and moved out, it was her job to "help find girls to come up to the bedroom at parties at the mansion". Crystal recalled the only reason Hugh left the mansion was to "find fresh girls", and their nights out had become "increasingly rare".
"It was actually a relief to have other women up in the bedroom with me, to not have to be sexual with him all alone. If these other girls were doing it, then I didn't have to," she candidly shared, although she does regret recruiting them and was "torn" over the decision. She also considered turning some of the eager girls down "for their own good", but she would rather bring home a girl who was excited about a night with Hugh, as they would no doubt leave bitterly disappointed by his performance in the bedroom.

Hugh was also so fond of Crystal’s blonde hair that she was forced to keep bleaching it, despite it damaging her scalp and making her hair fall out. "So I’d have to go bleach it and it would burn my scalp and I’d have blisters but for some reason I thought this was all normal and that’s what it meant to be seen as beautiful in Hef’s eyes," Crystal shared.
The model, who entered the Playboy Mansion in 2008, became Hugh’s sole caregiver in the last few months of his life, and she candidly admitted she was never in love with the sex industry icon. "I realised I was dealing with a really big power imbalance, it seemed like a world of success and fantasy, but everyone's having to sleep with an 80-year-old. There's a price. Everything has a price," she heartbreakingly explained. The title of her memoir is also a direct quote from Hugh, who told her on his deathbed that he wanted her to continue his legacy. "And I want to remind you to only say good things about me," she recalled him saying.
