Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has cheekily asked esteemed director Wes Anderson to cast him in a film after making a flamboyant entrance to Sunday's playoff game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

The Chiefs secured their place in the AFC championship game with a 27-24 win over Josh Allen and the Bills at Highmark Stadium in Western New York. Kelce scored two crucial touchdowns, but it wasn't just his performance on the field that caught people's attention.

Known for his flashy pre-game outfits, 34-year-old Kelce arrived at Orchard Park wearing a custom Teddy von Ranson suit, a colourful striped turtleneck, a burgundy beanie, and extravagant sunglasses.

His brother Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, was also there to support him. He spent the evening tailgating with fans, before joining his wife Kylie and Travis' girlfriend Taylor Swift in a luxury suite to watch the game. Jason joked on social media that Travis was "auditioning for a Wes Anderson film" with his outfit.

Wes Anderson is an American director known for critically acclaimed films like "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "Rushmore". Jason thinks Travis' outfit would fit perfectly in Anderson's next film.

"To me, I got more vibes that was this a Wes Anderson style," he said on the brothers' "New Heights" podcast on Wednesday. "The beanie and everything, it kind of looked like it would be out of 'Life Aquatic' which was probably what gave me that idea. It wasn't aimed as a knock. Dude, Wes Anderson is a beast. It reminded me a lot of 'Life Aquatic'. It was very picturesque."

Travis chuckled, replying: "It fit like a glove, baby, and I just matched it with this shirt and boot combo that I had just laying around. I just wanted everyone to know we were going into Buffalo in business attire. This is about as business as I get."

The Chiefs superstar confessed his dream to star in a Wes Anderson film one day. He said: "That would be pretty electric. If I'm in a Wes Anderson film... I'm just saying it, this was my pitch to be in a Wes Anderson film. I could fit right in! Just give me the lines, baby."

But despite all the jokes about future plans, Travis and the Chiefs have a job to do. Their dreams of consecutive Super Bowl wins are alive and well after the win in Buffalo, with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens coming up at M&T Bank Stadium in the AFC championship game.

Travis is sure to turn up in another standout outfit, hoping for a repeat of his 75-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Bills.
